Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell has been a chef and television presenter in the US and an instructor at Institute of Culinary Education. Burrell hosts Secrets of a Restaurant Chef at the Food Network. Ann Burrell's Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant chef, with her trademark spiky blond locks and pumped up personality, provides the basics of cooking that anyone can master. Chef Burrell also worked at some of New York's top restaurants, has been studying the Italian food and culture as well as participated in Food Network's Iron Chef America. As a youngster, living in the the upstate area of New York, Burrell became passionate about food and cooking. The Culinary Institute of America was the catalyst for her passion for restaurant management after she earned the English and Communications degree from Canisius College Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America is where I spent the most enjoyable time of my life. Culinary Institute of America was a great opportunity to pursue a degree. Following graduation, Chef Burrell was in Italy for a year, attending classes at the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. Also, she was employed at La Taverna del Lupo and La Bottega del 30 (a Michelin highly rated restaurant) in Tuscany. In Italy Burrell developed a profound appreciation and understanding of Italian culinary and cultural traditions. This will have a significant impact on how Burrell prepares her food. Burrell was a Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board member, which aims to increase the quality of life for children who face obstacles. Burrell also serves as an Juvenile Disease Research Foundation (JDRF) celebrity spokesperson and promotes awareness about childhood diabetes. As an inspirational speaker, she makes trips across the country to share her passion for food as well as her career in the culinary field. In her journey to culinary excellence, Anne has always said I feel so lucky to be able to share my passion in life with others.
